VR XC Girls Won 6th straight State Title!

  • The SCA cross-country teams ran in the SCISA State Meet in Columbia on Saturday and both teams made history.
 
  • The SCA girls won their 6th 2A title in a row. 
  • For the first time ever the girls swept the top 5 places to earn a perfect score of 15. 
  • Logan Morris won her 2nd State Championship, Madison Seay was 2nd, Shelby Wright was 3rd, Hannah Ward was 4th, and Taylor Morris was 5th.  All 5 girls were named All-State.
  • Alexis Zwilling and Kayla Mason placed 7th and 8th for SCA.
  • The SCA girls recorded the best times in all of SCISA.
 
  • The SCA boys also made history as they finished 2nd and brought home the first trophy in boys team history. 
  • Ben Christopher was the top runner for SCA as he has been all year and finished 11th.
  • Captain Matt Howell placed 16th and ran the 6th fastest time ever for SCA.
  • Luke Johnson, Mitchell Lewis and Jacob Allen all ran their fastest times ever to nail down the 2nd place finish.  Oakbrook was a very close 3rd place. 
 
  • It was the first time ever that SCA had brought home 2 SCISA trophies in one day, and it was the best day ever for SCA cross-country.
