Derrick Hackle in Top 5 for Singing Scholarship

On Tuesday, October 5th, approximately 25 hopeful and talented high school students auditioned in front of the Greenville in Harmony Chorus, singing a song from a Broadway musical or movie.  The chorus evaluated each student on criteria such as note accuracy, tone, entertainment value, etc.

Derrick Hackle auditioned and is one of the top 5!

The five students with the highest scores go on to compete on stage in an “American Idol” format during Greenville in Harmony’s annual show  on Saturday, November 13.  Winners receive cash prizes during the second half of the show.

Greenville in Harmony Chorus is dedicated to promoting music education in our community—not only among adults, but especially through our community’s most valuable resource: our children.  They initiated the Sing for Scholarship program as a way to foster the love of music in today’s high school students, and as a way to expose the students to barbershop harmony.

Congratulations to Derrick!
