Cross Country Girls Win Again at the Charleston Citadel

The SCA cross-country teams traveled to Charleston and competed in the Citadel Invitational on Saturday, September 25 .

  • The Varsity girls took 1st place yet again for the 4th invitational victory of the season.  This runs their overall record for the season to 90 victories and 1 loss.
  • Logan Morris took 1st place for her 4th victory of the season.  
  • Shelby Wright, Madison Seay, and Taylor Morris finished in the top 15 and won awards, and Alexis Zwilling took 19th and sealed the victory.  For keying the win Alexis is co Runner of the Meet.
The Varsity boys did great as they finished 9th of 16 teams and beat SCISA teams such as Hilton Head Prep and Cathedral Academy.
  • Ben Christopher was the top 8th grade boy in the race and finished 19th out of 100 runners.
  • Matt Howell, Mitchell Lewis, Luke Johnson and Cash High all scored for SCA.
The JV girls showed again that they are one of the top JV teams in the state.  
  • Lee Steele, Natalie Hamrick, Kaylin Rogers, Andie Reber and Brianna Putnam took 5 of the top 7 places and won awards as the Warriors scored an easy victory.
The JV boys finished 7th and beat SCISA power Hilton Head Prep. 
  • Joshua Bell and Sam Diestler showed that they will be the future All-State runners for SCA.
  • Both boys beat over 1/2 the field even though they are 6th graders.
  • Joshua Bell ran his best time of the year and was named co Runner of the Meet.
