December 2011 our Junior Beta Club went to Mrytle Beach for the state convention. Mary Callie Granger won 2nd place in the science competition. She received a plaque and an invitation to compete at the National Junior Beta Convention next summer. Congratulations Mary Callie!

Our Tower Power team (Landon Moss, Eric Pack, Nelson Center, Nicholas Edwards, Adam Ciotta and Samuel Kimbrell) built a tower out of straws and tape that was 88 inches tall (the tallest one ever by an SCA team). 

Logan Morris, eighth grader at Spartanburg Christian Academy, was recently named the  Herald Journal’s Girls Runner of the Year!  Logan can add that title to many others she has earned this year.  Logan helped lead SCA’s Cross County team to win the County Meet and the team’s seventh straight SCISA 2-A State

Congratulations to Tucker Meyers for being named a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist!  The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students for their exceptional scholastic potential.  About 1.5 million juniors in some 22,000 high schools entered the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2010 PSAT/NMSQT, which served as an initial screening of program entrants.  The nationwide pool of semifinalists, which represents less than one percent of U.S.

SCA's Varsity Cross Country Girls' Team made history after winning at last week's Spartanburg County meet.

Congratulations to SCA’s girls volleyball team for winning the SCISA 2AState Championship on Tuesday night!  They defeated First Baptist Charleston 3-0 to take the win.  It was their fourth state championship in eight years.  It was a great season for the entire team!  Go Warriors!

Our Lady Warriors Cross Country Team made history on Saturday with a win at the Spartanburg County meet.  They became the first team other than Dorman or Spartanburg High School to win a team title at the County meet in 29 years!  Logan Morris won the individual title and broke her own county record by 22 seconds.  Congratulations Lady Warriors Cross Country and Logan!  Continue to cheer them on this coming Saturday as they run to win their seventh straight state title!
