The Piedmont Region III science fair took place Feb. 22-25, 2012 at USC – Upstate.  It included almost 50 schools from 6 upstate counties (Spartanburg, Cherokee, Chester, Lancaster, Union and York).  There were 6 categories of competition in each of 3 grade levels.  SCA sent a total of 18 projects to this fair competing in the Middle school level – grades 5-8.  We had several students recognized for their efforts and received the following awards at a ceremony held February 25 at USC-Upstate.  

Congratulations to Tucker Meyers!  Tucker has advanced to Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program.  All National Merit Scholarship winners will be selected from this Finalist group.  Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in

Matthew Hawkins has successfully completed his final board of review and has been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. His Eagle Project was created for our church.


In conjunction with a series of Black History Month events on campus, the Shoestring Players at the University South Carolina Upstate will present “A Raisin in the Sun,” an African-American literary work by Lorraine Hansberry, at 8 p.m. today through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in the Performing Arts Center.

Fifth grader, Trey Crosby, will be starring as the son, "Travis" in "A Raisin in the Sun" this weekend.
