Spartanburg Christian Academy seventh-grader Logan Morris is already a two-time SCISA 2A state champion and won the county title with a meet-record time of 18.50. Morris also won the Eye Opener, Citadel Invitational and SCA Invitational titles.

It didn’t take long for Logan Morris to emerge as the runner to beat this year.

Logan Morris (7th grade) traveled to Hoover, Alabama this past weekend to compete in the USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships.  Logan joined 234 other 11 and 12-year-old girls from all across the nation.  The event kicked off with an Opening Ceremony on the campus of Samford University where she heard from Chris Solinsky, the American Record-Holder in the 10,000 meters.  He encouraged the athletes to dream big and set goals along the way to help them accomplish their dreams.  Saturday was "Race Day."  It was a cool morn

This Saturday, Logan Morris (7th grade) will be competing for the Junior Olympic National Title for her age division.  In order to earn this opportunity, Logan had to compete at the South Carolina and Region 3 (Maryland) races.   She won both of those and now travels to Birmingham, Alabama to compete against 200+ runners.

Wednesday, December 8 our 7th and 8th grade students volunteered their service with Special Olympics at Star Lanes Bowling Alley.  They rolled up their sleeves and ministered to special Olympians in a great way.  Spectators repeatedly commented on how well our kids were doing working with the multi-handicapped.

SCISA awards each year the President's Cup to the school with the most outstanding athletic program for that particular year. The award is based upon a school's total athletic performance in a school year, including region standing, playoff appearances and championships won.

SCA has won the Presidential Cup Award in the years 2007 and 2008.  This year, SCA won 5 state championships as well as a Regional Title and individual athletic accomplishments, entitling us to the 2010 Presidential Cup Award.
